JAZZ WEDNESDAYS Winter with Brazilian Guitarist & Vocalist Téka and the New Bossa Quartet
Jazz Wednesdays Winter 2016 brings great jazz music and great food together. Concerts are at the distinctive [seven-degrees] event facility. A full bar and new buffet dinner menu are available for purchase. Cover charge is $20 in advance, $25 at the door and $140 for the full Season. Doors open at 5:00 PM; Concerts start at 6:00pm; Reservations are accepted until noon on day of concert or until sold out.
A native of São Paulo, Téka mastered the traditions of Brazilian music at an early age. Along the way, she became equally entranced by American jazz. As her artistry grew, her talented singing and guitar playing fused the sensual rhythms and harmonies of Brazil with the sophistication and improvisation of jazz – a fascinating musical blend she calls New Bossa.
A graduate in Music Education and Arts at São Paulo State University, Téka went on to study at Boston’s Berklee School of Music and Longy School of Music.
