On a Mission for Positivity: Just Gather Wellness Invites the Community to Celebrate August 20
LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. — On a mission to inspire positivity, gratitude, and meaningful human connection, Just Gather Wellness—the nation's first nonprofit dedicated to digital detox and nature-based wellness—will celebrate its official ribbon cutting on Thursday, August 20, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Alta Laguna Park in Laguna Beach. Hosted by Just Gather Wellness and sponsored by the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce, the community celebration is open to residents and visitors of all ages.
Founded in 2022, Just Gather Wellness is a Laguna Beach nonprofit with a simple but timely mission: to help people disconnect from screens and reconnect with themselves, one another, and the natural world. Through free and low-cost outdoor gatherings, gratitude practices, mindful experiences, and community wellness activities, the organization encourages meaningful human connection while promoting the mental and physical benefits of spending time in nature.
According to Advisory Board Chair, Sara Garske: “We are honored to share Nature as our office. It is a daily reminder to lead with humility and stay connected to the environment we steward. We welcome all who share in that spirit to join us on the 20th.”
In an increasingly digital world, Just Gather Wellness was founded on the belief that spending intentional time outdoors and connecting face-to-face can reduce stress, improve well-being, and strengthen communities. Every program is designed to encourage participants to put down their phones, engage with one another, and experience the restorative power of nature.
Living its mission every day, Just Gather Wellness has chosen to use Alta Laguna Park as its "office," demonstrating that meaningful work and community building can happen outdoors. Throughout the summer, the nonprofit has hosted wellness activities at the park thanks to a generous donor whose support made these experiences possible for the community.
The ribbon cutting celebration marks an exciting milestone for the organization and its continued commitment to creating accessible spaces where people can unplug, gather, and thrive. Guests will enjoy a complimentary light dinner, optional gratitude activities, and a brief presentation from the Just Gather Wellness leadership team highlighting the organization's mission, accomplishments, and vision for the future.
The celebration also launches an exciting new season of programming. Beginning this fall, Just Gather Wellness will offer new classes in Laguna Beach in collaboration with The Etiquette Factory and School of Gratitude Orange County, expanding opportunities for participants to build confidence, practice gratitude, strengthen interpersonal skills, and cultivate healthier, more intentional relationships with technology. Community members interested in learning more about upcoming programs are also invited to visit the Just Gather Wellness team at the Laguna Beach Farmers' Market on September 12.
"Nature has always been our gathering place," said the Just Gather Wellness leadership team. "By calling Alta Laguna Park our office, we're demonstrating that wellness, connection, and community don't require four walls. We're excited to celebrate this milestone with the community that has supported us since the beginning."
The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce's sponsorship of ribbon cutting reflects a shared commitment to strengthening community well-being and supporting organizations that make Laguna Beach a healthier, more connected place to live.
Everyone is invited to attend this special evening to celebrate a local nonprofit dedicated to helping people unplug, reconnect, and discover the positive impact that nature and community can have on everyday life.
