Music in Motion

Experience how music affects the emotional impact of film in this unique evening of live music, film and conversation. Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Greg MacGillivray joins musician and composer Steve Wood, who has curated the music for the evening. The Zelter String Quartet will perform live, with music specially selected and paired with clips from Greg’s films.

Greg and Steve’s creative collaboration dates all the way back to 5 Summer Stories. Watch film with and without music and hear how they arrived at the final combination of image and sound. They’ll also explore scenes from IMAX films including Everest (with George Harrison), Dolphins and The Living Sea (with Sting), To The Arctic (with Paul McCartney), and many others.
